Davao Food Appreciation Tour Day 2

We had brunch at Polo Bistro Pool Lounge  located inside Marco Polo Davao Hotel to start our 2nd DFAT day.

*warning : a lot of photos ahead*

 Sirloin Steak

They served us Fried Mozzarella Cheese Sticks with Marinara Sauce, Quinoa Salad with Smoked Salmon and Green Asparagus,Tiger King Prawns, Sirloin Steak, Baby Back Ribs, Pandan and Jackfruit Parfait in Bamboo Tubes, and Durian Crepe.

Fried Mozzarella Cheese Sticks with Marinara Sauce

Tiger King Prawns

My eyes were focused on the Tiger King Prawn, Baby Back Ribs and Sirloin Steak. I really really like shrimps and it was really a treat for me to try prawns, the taste was light so you can still taste the sea with the Prawn.

Baby Back Ribs

Quinoa Salad with Smoked Salmon and Green Asparagus

On the Baby Back Ribs were banana chips and I never thought that the sweetness of banana chips would compliment well with the rich taste of Ribs.Meat was so soft that it could melt in your mouth. The steak was well done but the meat was still tender and juicy.

Pandan and Jackfruit Parfait in Bamboo Tubes

Pandan and Jackfuit Parfait was interesting, it tastes like Pandan panna cotta but with a surprise center which was the jackfruit, they were both sweet but they compliment well with each other.Durian crepe looks really plain and boring but the durian filling inside was so rich and creamy it makes you want to eat more than just one serving.

Durian Crepe

After our satisfying brunch, we went to SM City Davao to meet with DOT people to let us experience one of their tours which was at Zip City which is located at Langub Road,Talomo District.

I didn't try the Zipline because I know for sure I'll end up screaming and will not enjoy the rest of my DFAT experience.  The view was breath taking which is a good distraction for those who have fear of heights like me while waiting for your adventurous loved ones who want to try zip line for only 300.

Next stop was Davao Crocodile Park. Even though it's near our house, I don't have the time to visit it. Last time I went there was like 6-7 years ago. It's a must visit if you like animals since they have a mini zoo inside.

Hawk Eagle

A very big neko chan

 Luhan?!~ lol

 Philippine Crocodile
Different species of birds, mammals and reptiles. We met a very cute 1 month owl which we can't touch but the caretaker was friendly enough to let us take photos of the ultra kawaii bird. We were given only 30 minutes for the trip since we need to go to our next destination but it was worth it.I was really happy to take photos of the animals because they were so cute and cuddly looking.

After our short tour, we proceeded to Gaisano Mall and invaded Missy Bon Bon, a hip, cozy, and relaxed artisan bread shop serving healthy, freshly made bread onsite, as well as unique fusion interpretations of local bread products, gourmet comfort food, custom gelato, and freshly brewed coffee.

Missy Bon Bon gave us a chance to choose our own Gelato. Their Gelato is one of their best sellers so make sure you go try their gelato. I think their gelatos differ everyday.

The small cup costs ** while the large cup which is good for sharing costs **. Recently,  their El Rio branch also sells gelato. They also sell breads and affordable meals like pasta, sandwiches and cakes.

Unforgettable Grilled Pork Ribs
For our dinner, we went to Lachi's. It's a must visit resto here in Davao City if you want delicious meals for an affordable price, also their cakes are also a must try.

Chili con Carne

My favorite dish would be their Unforgettable Grilled Pork Ribs which was really soft and it literally melts in your mouth. Every time I go to Lachi's, I order this dish. Warning : It will make you order extra rice.

I was really amazed by their Lengua because you can't feel the tongue texture. It's like they scraped the tongue to have that smooth texture and their sauce was so heavenly. As of the moment,  it's not available in their store yet but I do hope they will sell it soon.

Laing

It was my 1st time tasting Laing and it was interesting. Though I didn't eat a lot since it has milk and I'm part lactose intolerant, it was a good first time experience for me.

Asian Spicy Chicken

Another favorite of mine. I love how crispy the chicken is but it's still juicy inside. The sauce is sweet and a bit spicy, a good combination in my opinion.

Breaded Soft Tofu with Teriyaki Sauce

Lengua

Please let it be a regular on your menu.

Pork Marinara

The dessert table which was presented to us was amazing. Almost all their cakes were there like you can't choose which one to eat first. Their well known cheesecakes, sansrival, macarons were there. I get to taste their wide variety of cakes which is not usual for me because I order only 2-3 different slices and share them.

Durian Cheesecake

Mini Creme Brulee cake

Chocolate Chip cookies

Green Tea Macarons

My all time cheesecake would be the classic New York Cheesecake with Strawberry, I order it whenever I visit them when I'm not in diet season.

Lachi's was really a memorable stop for me.
