Inside Cebu Pacific’s A330neo: Features, Routes, and Sustainability Highlights
With the delivery of its newest aircraft, a brand-new A330neo, Cebu Pacific, the top airline in the Philippines, has achieved a historic milestone: it is now the first local carrier to run a fleet of 100 aircraft.
Additionally, the A330neo is the 12th aircraft of its type to be added to CEB's fleet, solidifying the airline's standing as the Asia-Pacific region's largest A330neo operator.
Arriving in Manila from Airbus' Toulouse, France factory, the 459-seater aircraft is the second of four A330neos that are anticipated to join CEB's fleet this year. The first one arrived on March 28. In 2025, CEB anticipates the delivery of seven aircraft in total.
“Reaching 100 aircraft is more than a milestone — it reflects our unwavering commitment to make air travel accessible to more Filipinos,” said Xander Lao, CEB President and Chief Commercial Officer. “With a larger fleet, we’re able to operate more efficiently, enhance connectivity across the country and the region, and pass on the benefits of scale through even lower fares.”
This milestone coincides with the ongoing increase in passengers. CEB carried 2.2 million passengers in June 2025, a 7.9% increase over the same month the previous year. The airline has carried 13.9 million passengers from January to June, which is 21% more than the 11.5 million it carried in the first half of 2024.
The A330neo gives CEB the adaptability to service high-demand industries as well as long-haul and regional routes. The aircraft's enhanced capacity and range allow the airline to maximize operations while keeping costs down.
The A330neo (New Engine Option) is one of the greenest and most efficient aircraft in the skies today. It features:
- 459 ergonomically designed Recaro seats
- USB-A and USB-C ports at every seat
- 60% smaller noise footprint for a quieter cabin
- 25% less fuel consumption per flight (1.4L/seat/100km)
- Powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines
- Aerodynamic composite wings with increased span
These features not only boost comfort for passengers on long-haul journeys but also contribute to lower carbon emissions, supporting CEB’s goal of operating an all-NEO fleet by 2028.
CEB’s A330neo is designed for both long-haul international and high-capacity regional flights. Here are the routes currently served:

The most recent generation of aircraft, known as Airbus NEOs, emit less noise and use up to 25% less fuel per flight than their predecessors. Aircraft carbon emissions fall in tandem with the decrease in fuel usage.
With a fleet of 12 Airbus A330s, 40 Airbus A320s, 26 Airbus A321s, and 22 ATR turboprops, CEB has one of the youngest fleets in the world and provides the Philippines with the most extensive network coverage.
