Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold7, the thinnest and lightest Galaxy Z Fold series to date, which combines the best of Galaxy design, camera functionality, and AI innovation. With a larger, more immersive display, it unlocks new levels of productivity and efficiency while providing the premium performance and experience of an ultra smartphone after being unfolded. Additionally, it incorporates intelligent, multimodal agents that are tailored for the foldable form factor with ease, using the new One UI 8 as its foundation.

Ultra Sleek, Ultra Powerful

 

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7, the lightest and thinnest Galaxy Z Fold to date, is made for consumers who desire the portability of a conventional smartphone combined with the capability and adaptability of a larger foldable screen. The Fold7 has a sleek, incredibly thin profile, weighing only 215 grams, which is less than the Galaxy S25 Ultra, and measuring only 8.9 mm when folded and 4.2 mm when unfolded. Even when folded, its 6.5-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X cover display with a new 21:9 aspect ratio makes typing and browsing a breeze.

 

With an 8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display that is 11% larger than its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold7 unfolds to reveal its largest screen to date on a Galaxy smartphone. Utilizing the full potential of Galaxy AI, this larger screen amplifies productivity, content editing, and immersive viewing. With Vision Booster and a maximum brightness of 2,600 nits, the display is sharp and easy to see even in direct sunlight, making it a potent multipurpose tool for work and play.

 

The Galaxy Z Fold7 is built to withstand daily use with confidence and is thin, light, and sturdy. Long-lasting performance is guaranteed by its redesigned hinge and foldable display, even after repeated folding or carrying in a bag. With its improved water droplet design and multi-rail structure, the new Armor FlexHinge improves durability by distributing stress evenly and minimizing visible creasing.

 

Corning® Gorilla® Glass Ceramic 2, a thin, durable material with embedded crystals that improve crack resistance, protects the cover display. Advanced Armor Aluminum reinforces the frame and hinge housing, increasing their strength and hardness by 10%. In the meantime, a 50% thicker Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG) and a titanium plate layer have made the main display both thinner and stronger, providing increased toughness without adding bulk. 

 

 

 The Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, the most potent processor ever found in a Galaxy device, is installed in the Galaxy Z Fold7 and has been specially tuned to provide outstanding performance. This cutting-edge chip makes on-device AI processing for functions like generative editing and real-time language translation quicker and more fluid. With a 41% increase in NPU performance, 38% in CPU, and 26% in GPU over the previous generation, the Galaxy Z Fold7 can easily and uncompromisingly handle demanding AI tasks.

Ultra 200MP Camera

With its combination of top-tier hardware and clever AI processing, the Galaxy Z Fold7 offers Samsung's most sophisticated pro-grade camera experience in a foldable device, producing incredibly detailed, colorful, and lifelike images and videos. It has the Galaxy Z series' first 200MP wide-angle camera, which produces 44% brighter and 4x more detailed images. When the device is unfolded, the 10MP ultra-wide 100° front camera on the main display makes it simple to take group selfies and capture wide scenes. The Fold7's next-gen ProVisual Engine speeds up image processing for clear, colorful results. AI improvements Even in low-light conditions, lighting and detail are automatically optimized.While 10-bit HDR improves color depth and contrast for videos that look realistic day or night, Night Video uses motion detection to separate subjects from backgrounds while lowering noise.

The Galaxy Z Fold7's large screen and AI-powered editing tools turn it into a potent, portable creative studio. Without the need for extra gear, it enables users to quickly take and edit professional-caliber images and videos. AI-powered precise edits such as moving, erasing, enlarging objects, adjusting angles, and filling in backgrounds are made possible by Photo Assist. While Generative Edit now provides more intelligent, proactive suggestions like Suggest Erases to automatically detect and remove distractions like passersby, features like Portrait Studio help highlight vibrant expressions, including pets. Fine-tuning is made easier with the Side-by-Side Editing and Show Original features, which enable real-time comparison of edits on the large screen. A new toggle in the Gallery app and better background noise detection have also been added to Audio Eraser, making it easier to remove sounds like wind or traffic from videos.

 

Ultra AI Experience

With its large foldable screen and new One UI 8, the Galaxy Z Fold7 ushers in the next era of Galaxy AI and offers smarter, more user-friendly experiences. One UI 8 is a true multimodal agent that seamlessly and efficiently combines large-screen multitasking with intelligent tools that comprehend what users type, say, and see. By providing context-aware responses and adaptive features tailored for the foldable format, the AI-powered interface lessens the need to switch between apps.

Users can engage naturally with Gemini Live, which has been improved with multimodal AI, by speaking or typing contextual questions. AI can also provide real-time insights based on what is displayed through screen and camera sharing. With Circle to Search, users can easily circle anything on the screen to obtain answers, strategies, or tips in real time without interfering with their experience. 

With features like AI Results View, which shows AI output in split or floating windows to preserve the original content, Galaxy AI for Large Screens makes use of the Fold7's display to increase efficiency. AI-generated text and images can be directly dragged and dropped from Multi Window, and tools like Writing Assist and Drawing Assist help users realize their ideas. The Galaxy Z Fold7 transforms into a clever, safe, and potent personal assistant in your pocket when paired with an AI-powered camera and integrated privacy safeguards. 

 

Future-Ready Mobile Security 

Samsung is bolstering security throughout its ecosystem with solutions that are ready for the future as mobile experiences grow increasingly intelligent and connected. Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP), which establishes app-specific encrypted storage areas and guarantees that each app can only access its own sensitive data, is one of Samsung's improved privacy features for on-device AI with One UI 8. Additionally, Samsung is growing its Knox Matrix platform to provide more proactive and intuitive cross-device security. Furthermore, Samsung is strengthening the key exchange procedure to guarantee greater privacy—even over public networks—by incorporating post-quantum cryptography into Secure Wi-Fi as part of its dedication to next-generation security.
