In Hangzhou, China, HONOR and Alibaba formally signed a momentous strategic partnership deal. The signing was observed by Alibaba Group CEO Eddie Wu and HONOR Device Co., Ltd. CEO James Li. |
HONOR and Alibaba will use their unique technological and ecological advantages in AI agents, big AI models, intelligent services, and creative application experiences in the field of AI agent ecosystems. Travel navigation, tourism services, lifestyle, mobile office, e-commerce, and entertainment are just a few of the main service scenarios that will see extensive and profound collaboration as a result. In order to collaboratively explore innovative, ground-breaking features and interaction paradigms for mobile devices, the partnership will promote technological exchanges and resource sharing across several sectors.
The partnership will focus on collaborative development of AI models and capabilities using the Qwen open-source paradigm. This covers vertical application models for multimodal understanding and generation, AI agents, and on-device AI.
By skillfully fusing the strength of the Qwen big model with HONOR's state-of-the-art hardware, operating systems, and variety of scenarios, the ultimate objective is to co-create a world-renowned "cloud-device integrated" intelligent device experience. This collaborative endeavor
will hasten the development of large model technology, which concentrates on scenario-specific and on-device enhancements, providing HONOR MagicOS users with more intelligent, customized, safe, and seamless AI services and experiences.

The two companies will also intensify their cooperation on MaaS (Model-as-a-Service) AI capabilities. Continuous performance optimization and capability integration across text, multimodal, image, video, and voice situations are required for this. Whether derived from the Qwen open-source model or created cooperatively, we will jointly investigate the training, optimizing, and inference procedures for both on-device and cloud AI models. Creating cutting-edge on-device models that reach State-of-the-Art (SOTA) capabilities is the goal.
This close collaboration will only grow in the future. The MCP (Multi-Cloud Platform) protocol and Alibaba's vast commercial service ecosystem will be used to gradually integrate a number of vertical intelligent agents, including Ele.me (food delivery), Damai (ticketing), and Taopiaopiao (movie ticketing). In addition to offering customers even more practical and effective life services, this will expand the Agent ecosystem to a greater range of vertical scenarios, such as food delivery, entertainment, office collaboration, and e-commerce.
This project will further integrate AI technology into everyday life. In addition to offering consumers a multitude of AI usage scenarios and services that were collaboratively developed by HONOR and Alibaba in China, the next HONOR Magic8 Series is set to define the most potent self-evolving AI native smartphone.
