Samsung Electronics has unveiled the Galaxy Tab S12 series, featuring the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S12+, designed to help users work, study, and create more efficiently. Combining powerful performance, long-lasting battery life, immersive displays, and the latest Galaxy AI features, the new tablets offer a versatile experience for students, professionals, and creatives.
Both models feature Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1,600 nits of peak brightness. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra comes with a 14.6-inch display, while the Galaxy Tab S12+ features a 12.6-inch screen. Both tablets also include an ergonomic S Pen for taking notes, annotating documents, sketching, and editing.
Powerful Performance in a Slim Design
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra measures just 5.1mm thick, making it Samsung's thinnest Galaxy Tab yet. Both models are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor, delivering improvements of up to 61% in NPU processing, 19% in CPU performance, and 17% in GPU power compared with the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra.
Designed for extended use, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra packs an 11,600mAh battery, while the Galaxy Tab S12+ has a 10,600mAh battery. Samsung claims up to 23 hours of battery life for the Ultra and up to 21 hours for the Tab S12+, depending on usage. Both support 45W charging, with a full charge taking approximately 95 minutes when using a compatible adapter.
A redesigned 3D Vapor Chamber helps manage heat during demanding tasks, while IP68-rated water and dust resistance adds durability for everyday use.
Galaxy AI Makes Everyday Tasks Easier
Running Android 17 with One UI 9, the Galaxy Tab S12 series brings Galaxy AI tools and multitasking features into one workspace. Users can divide the screen into up to three sections using Multi Window, making it easier to watch a lecture, take notes, and consult an AI assistant simultaneously.
Note Assist can help summarize notes, while the included S Pen makes it easy to capture ideas, annotate learning materials, and sketch concepts. Users can also pair the tablets with Samsung's Pro Keyboard or Book Cover Keyboard Slim for a more laptop-like productivity setup.
Both models also include a six-month trial of Google AI Pro, providing access to Google's AI tools. With Gemini Notebook, users can organize notes, images, recordings, and files in one workspace and turn information into summaries, podcasts, and quizzes.
Creative and Productivity Apps Included
Samsung is expanding the Galaxy Tab S12 series' creative capabilities through a selection of professional and productivity apps, with benefits valued at approximately US$600.
Adobe Photoshop comes preloaded on the tablets, marking a first for Android tablets. Optimized for tablet use and S Pen input, it offers image-editing and design tools, including AI-powered features such as Generative Fill and Image to Video. Galaxy Tab S12 series users also receive four months of access to the Photoshop mobile plan.
