I'm a Loser, Loner

Long dresses are saviors to those who want to look chic without exposing too much skin. I have not worn long dresses in a long time because, I feel too bulky and extra fat when I wear them. But when I saw this specific dress in my mom's closet, I had the strong urge to fit it and I'm glad I did.

With the perfect height  ( above the ankle ), I look a bit taller and slimmer because I exposed a part of my body that's small. Accessorized it with a simple cardigan since my dress is already embellished (I don't want the focus to be drawn away from the dress) and simple platform mandals which I wore the whole summer for additional height.

Topped it off with simple at the same time rocker ish bag from , rocker chic look complete.
I gathered some tips online which I find helpful when wearing long dresses. Hope these tips would help you and maybe comment your photos below.
  • For relaxed vibe, pair your dress with flip flops, low heeled platforms and flat sandals. Not only it's comfortable but also it gives an illusion of long legs. Closed flat shoes make your legs appear shorter and makes you look dowdy.
  • For maxi dresses to be office appropriate, pair it up with structured pieces.
  • Maxi dresses look awesome with minimal layering. Pair it up with denim jacket for more relaxed look.
  • Wear a belt to emphasize your waist
  • If one shorter side, watch the hemline. Maxi dresses should not be below the ankle so meaning ankles should be seen so that it will not make you look shorter.
  • Solid colors look great on any body type because it creates an illusion of length so it makes the body slimmer.
  • Petite women should stick to micro prints and avoid large patterned dresses.
  • Curvy women should avoid horizontal stripes because it makes their body look wider and should stick to medium or large prints.
