Green GSM Launches All-Electric Taxi Service: A Sustainable Transport Solution in Davao
As part of its long-term commitment to support a clean, contemporary, and well-managed transportation system across important Philippine cities, Green GSM has launched an all-electric taxi service in Davao, marking the company's first growth outside of Metro Manila.
Members of the local business community, representatives from several local government departments and agencies, and Mr. Nonito Llanos, Regional Director of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) for the Davao Region, all attended the launch event.
Davao, one of Mindanao's largest cities, is crucial to the social and economic development of the nation. The city is well-known for its emphasis on environmental preservation, public safety, and strong community values. These factors have contributed to the development of a transportation system that is focused on public trust, safety, and dependability.
Along with continuous efforts by local authorities to support cleaner air, responsible urban development, and long-term livability, Davao has seen consistent increases in population, business activity, and daily transport demands in recent years. Due to these factors, Davao is a good place for cutting-edge, effective transportation solutions that complement the city's people-centered development strategy.
The five Green Promises—good experience, good driver, good car condition, good fare, and good environment—are the foundation of Green GSM's Davao operating strategy. These include using only all-electric VinFast cars with zero tailpipe emissions, hiring professional drivers on a full-time basis who are trained to provide dependable and polite service, displaying clear pricing in the app, and implementing an operating philosophy focused on improved quality of life, quieter streets, and cleaner air. By implementing these guidelines in Davao, Green GSM hopes to provide citizens with a reliable daily transportation option while also supporting the city's larger efforts to sustainable mobility.
Mr. Dao Quy Phi, Managing Director of Green GSM Southeast Asia, said: “Davao is a city
that places strong emphasis on order, safety, and environmental responsibility. Our objective is to provide a reliable, zero-emission mobility option that aligns with these priorities while meeting the everyday transportation needs of local residents. This expansion is a strategic step in our national roadmap for electric mobility, and we look forward to working closely with Davao’s institutions and communities to ensure that the service contributes meaningfully to the city’s long-term goals for well-managed and sustainable urban development.”
Commuters in Davao can now reserve Green GSM taxis via the Green GSM app, the hotline, specific pick-up locations, or by street hailing in important business areas. As a special introductory offer, residents who download and register on the Green GSM app will automatically receive 25 Green Points, each worth one Philippine peso, as part of an initial offer. These points may be applied either flexibly to subsequent rides or instantly for the initial journey.
Green GSM has concentrated on offering mobility solutions that put dependability, transparency, and environmental responsibility first since its June 2025 start in the Philippines. The company's continued dedication to assisting cities that prioritize sustainable development, safe governance, and community well-being while encouraging the country's larger transition to greener, more effective urban transportation.
