For almost ten years, thousands of people on the autistic spectrum have found a sense of community at the SM Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena, which is more than just a top-notch event space.
The SM MOA Arena has served as the venue for the Autism Society Philippines (ASP) Angels Walk for Autism since 2014, both symbolically and practically. This yearly event, co-sponsored by SM Cares, unites communities, campaigners, and families in a common demand for a
a more inclusive future—one in which Filipinos with autism spectrum disorders are valued, accommodated, and accepted in full.
The SM MOA Arena, one of the top indoor facilities in the nation for sporting events, concerts, and major gatherings, has won praise for its accessible layout and inclusive architecture. It has the following features:
- Accessible facilities, dining areas, and entrances for wheelchair users
- Ramps and elevators to facilitate movement
- Employees with the necessary training to help people with disabilities (PWDs)

The Philippine Foundation for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled Inc. (PFRD) has also formally recognized SM MOA Arena as a PWD-friendly venue due to these attributes and its dedication to diversity, reaffirming its position as a model of accessibility in public areas.
But more than just infrastructure, SM MOA Arena has developed into a significant location where a variety of communities feel appreciated and supported. It is a prime example of how inclusive programming and well-thought-out architecture can strengthen communities.
Its continued collaboration with ASP reflects a common goal of creating a society that not only accepts but also empowers every person.
