The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has predicted "danger-level" heat indices of 42°C to 47°C in 17 locations throughout the Philippines on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
As per PAGASA's 5 PM bulletin dated April 29:
47°C – Dagupan City, Pangasinan
46°C – Baler (Radar), Aurora
43°C – Bacnotan (La Union), Cubi Point (Olongapo), Sangley Point (Cavite), Cuyo (Palawan), Pili (Camarines Sur)
42°C – NAIA (Pasay City), ISU Echague (Isabela), Iba (Zambales), Clark Airport (Pampanga), Tanauan (Batangas), San Jose (Occidental Mindoro), Daet (Camarines Norte), Legazpi City (Albay), Masbate City, and Roxas City (Capiz)
According to PAGASA, heat indices ranging from 42°C to 51°C are rated as "danger level," in which there is a high possibility of heat cramps, exhaustion, and even heat stroke for prolonged exposure to the sun and physical exertion.
The public is highly recommended to drink plenty of water, not go out during the hottest part of the day (10 AM to 4 PM), wear light-colored clothing, and rest frequently in shaded or cool places.
PAGASA also reported that heat indices could still increase in May, as the dry season usually peaks this time of the year in the Philippines.
