All about Sneaker Wedges

Today I'm gonna talk about Wedge Sneakers that everyone is currently raving right now. Celebrities like Miranda Kerr, Beyonce, Ashlee Simpson, Kate Bosworth and Dakota Fanning were spotted wearing Isabel Marant's Bazil Wedge trainers.

So here's an info on how Isabel came up with this idea.

Fashionista: How did you come up with them?

Isabel Marant: It’s something I did since I was a teenager. I would cut up cork and put pieces of cork into my sneakers because I wanted to look taller. And I always thought about this, what I was doing when I was young, and I thought I should really achieve something around this idea. Sneakers are so comfortable but at the same time it’s not very elegant. To have a little heel in it makes a difference, it gives you legs–I mean, I know women, I am a woman, so I know what we are searching for!

Thanks StyleList!

Isabel has a point there. Sneakers are comfy but not elegant so why not incorporate the most fave type of heels aka wedges and sneakers? Genius!  Thus the Sneaker Wedges were born and is currently out of stock anywhere because everyone want to feel glamorous and be like celebrities.

Well, all people want to be like celebrities but we do not have the wallets of the celebrities. IM's sneaker wedge costs about $750. (woah! very expensive for shoes that are not considered a classic) So I will post great alternatives with reasonable prices if you want to buy "Sneaker Wedges".

Though I am not a sporty girl, I want to purchase one since I find it chic yet comfortable.  But I have my own hesitations like maybe I'll just end up inside my closet after a few wears which actually happened to my HI top shoes by DC which I purchased 2 years ago. Aside from spending 6,000 pesos, from my own savings, I only got to use it during NSTP or days wherein I feel sporty which means rarely (photo below).

Actually, I saw one on Cotton On Singapore but I hesitated and I regret it. I looked up on their side only to find out that they are sold out. I asked them if they would restock them and they haven't replied yet. Another legit reason why I am hesitating to buy this fashion shoes is that I bought a handful of shoes for the past months.

Maybe I should follow Isabel and cut up some corks and fill this shoes to make them sneaker wedges? Maybe I will if I find supplies for it. I promise I will share about it as soon as I have the materials needed.

Last but not the least, I want to congratulate Mr. Barack Obama for winning the elections!
